The distinction between Indica and Sativa used to be clearer. Indica is known for its relaxing, calming effects, giving the user a “stoned” or “couch-lock” feeling. It’s typically used for sleep aid or anxiety relief. Indica flowers are generally smaller and denser with a short flowering time. Sativa, on the other hand, is known for uplifting, euphoric effects that were thought to enhance creativity and productivity. These flowers tend to grow larger and less dense, with longer flowering times. Over the years, breeders have crossbred Indica and Sativa to create hybrid strains that combine desirable traits of both, producing larger, denser flowers with shorter flowering times. As a result, most strains available today are hybrids.

In our opinion, most cannabis today is a hybrid, and its effects depend on a combination of genetics, terpenes, and harvest timing.
